AMclub | Bergamo Brescia 2023. Two cities, one day, one capital!
Bergamo (BG)
Sunday 16.04.2023 at
Two major exhibitions, both unmissable, on the same day. “Cecco del Caravaggio” in Bergamo, a world premiere, and “Misery and Nobility. Giacomo Ceruti in 18th-century Europe” in Brescia.
Bergamo, Accademia Carrara: Cecco del Caravaggio, The Model Pupil
In the morning, we will visit the first exhibition ever dedicated to Cecco del Caravaggio – born Francesco Boneri – the most mysterious of Caravaggio's pupils.
Through a whirlwind and passionate apprenticeship with the great Master, the painter became a skilled artist, eventually becoming one of the most interesting exponents of European Caravaggism.
Brescia, Santa Giulia Museum: Misery & Nobility. Giacomo Ceruti in 18th-century Europe
In the afternoon, we will continue on to Brescia to visit the exhibition at the Santa Giulia Museum.
The major Ceruti monographic exhibition organised by Fondazione Brescia Musei highlights, thanks to exceptional loans from Paris, Vienna, Madrid, Gothenburg and numerous Italian public and private collections, both Giacomo Ceruti's roots in the adventure of ‘realistic painting’ in Lombardy and the international scope of his career.
The exhibition, an exceptional co-production with the Getty Centre, will be on display in Los Angeles from 18 July. Few others have been able to portray “the underprivileged” with such care, love and sensitivity.
The cost of the tour is €49 for holders of the Lombardy Valle d'Aosta Museum Pass and €89 for non-holders. It includes:
- booking and admission to the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo and the exhibition at Santa Giulia in Brescia;
- the reserved bus journey for the Milan-Bergamo-Brescia return trip;
- microphone installation, guided tours and full-day assistance provided by Narciso d'Autore.
