Photographic project in collaboration with IED Turin

On the occasion of the project conceived and promoted by Abbonamento Musei for the enhancement of the castles in Valle d'Aosta, seven students from the three-year photography course at the IED - European Institute of Design, Turin have realised afascinating tale in images.

The winner was chosen from among the submitted projects: Tales of observation by Andrea Terlizzi. His shots were able to combine the historical-architectural aspect of castles with the human dimension of the staff working inside them every day, in contact with the visiting public.

In this project, the detail, the human portrait and the panoramic view are linked by an imaginary red thread that first composes the triptych and then connects each individual castle, as a whole extremely heterogeneous in terms of purpose and historical period. But that's not all: the stylistic and chromatic coherence and the play of shapes also contribute to guiding the observer in his enjoyment.
The choice of working with the human figure, i.e. those of the guides and castle guards, was considered for the centrality of the role they play within the museum site, which is often not graspedThey are the people who know the castle better than anyone else, guiding visitors through the tour by telling them the history, anecdotes and conveying, each in a different way, their passion for their work.

Storytelling project

The students of the creative writing and storytelling courses of the Holden School have known recount the castles of the Aosta Valley in a curious and original way.

Following the visit to the castles, they identified a character and made a narrative text for each place. Their stories also became part of a narrative video published on the Association's social channels and the first issue of AMagazine.
