Acquario Civico

Milan (MI)
included
The Milan Civic Aquarium was established in 1906 as part of the Milan International Exhibition and is the only pavilion built in Sempione Park that was not dismantled once the event was over. It is the third oldest aquarium in Europe.

The Civic Aquarium is housed in a splendid Art Nouveau building whose friezes and majolica tiles tell its contents from the outside. It is located next to the Civic Arena and on the edge of Sempione Park, whose elliptical architecture it reproduces. The current layout of the building and tanks is the result of the renovation (2003-2006) that returned the Institute, in its new guise, to visitors and citizens alike.
