Marisa Merz – The Dance of the Hours

«My work is not a static object, but a breath that continues to change.» — Marisa Merz. The exhibition is an unprecedented retrospective, one that is unlikely to be replicated in terms of its comprehensiveness and depth.

The Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art, the Merz Foundation and the GAM – Turin Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art have joined forces to collaborate on a three-part exhibition celebrating the centenary of Marisa Merz’s birth. Designed to trace the work and legacy of the artist, who was born in Turin on 23 May 1926.

At Rivoli Castle, Marisa Merz – *La danza delle ore* takes its cue from the reconstruction of the installation *E il naufragar m’è dolce in questo mare*, a major exhibition project that Marisa Merz presented in 1980 at the Tucci Russo gallery in Turin and restaged that same year at the Venice Art Biennale.

The exhibition also takes the form of an expanded retrospective, featuring ten contemporary female artists who have been invited to create a constellation of voices and perspectives that resonate with Marisa Merz’s poetic and experimental approach.
