Francesco Garnier Valletti Fruit Museum - Turin (TO)
From Saturday 17 October 2026 to Friday 20 November 2026
As part of the 12th edition of Art Site Festthe The “Francesco Garnier Valletti” Fruit Museum” by Turin features a captivating exhibition and narrative journey created by the Iranian artist Bahar Heidarzade. The operation site specific, entitled The ruby colour, places the figure of the pomegranate, a fruit steeped in symbolic meaning that has featured across the civilisations of Mediterranean and serves as a means of dialogue, exchange and connection between different cultures. In Iran, during the night of Yalda At the winter solstice, eating pomegranate seeds is a true rite of resilience, intended to invoke the return of light.
Through this work, the artist symbolically places the pomegranate within the precious model collection of Francesco Garnier Valletti held at the’Academy of Agriculture, prompting deep reflection on the need for intercultural dialogue. The audio tour also enhances the visitors’ experience The Seasons of the Garden, inspired by the famous text by Karel Čapek, a Czech playwright known for coining the term “robot”. The actress from Turin Sara D’Amario brings to life the ups and downs and the passions of gardening, which can be experienced first-hand in the theatre through QR Code.
