Aldo Brovarone. Pininfarina’s pencil
MAUTO – National Motor Museum - Turin (TO)
From Wednesday 7 October 2026 to Sunday 7 February 2027
The National Automobile Museum celebrates, on the occasion of the the centenary of his birth, Aldo Brovarone, an extraordinary designer and creator of some of the most elegant cars of the 20th century, both in Italy and around the world. The exhibition — held at the project room on the first floor — recounts Brovarone’s professional journey, from his first encounter with Piero Dusio at Argentina up to the years spent in the Pininfarina Design Centre from 1953 to 1988.
His pencil has brought to life futuristic concept cars that have gone on to inspire production models: from the Superflow (at the base of the’Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto) up to the Peugeot 504. The most significant contribution relates to Ferrari, with projects that marked the emergence of front-engined grand tourers (from the Super America at Superfast II) and pave the way for mid-engined sports cars with the Dino Berlinetta Speciale.
On display at the MAUTO The exhibition features 28 drawings from the’Pininfarina Historical Archive, from the archives of Cesare Brovarone and from the archives of Alfredo Stola, as well as posters, photographs, postcards and iconic cars. Among the cars on display, the Maserati A6GCS/53 Coupé of 1953, the Lancia Gamma Coupé of 1976, the Dino Berlinetta Speciale from 1965 (which is returning to Italy for the first time in 61 years) and the Fiat Stola Dedication of 1996. The exhibition is rounded off by a timeline tracing the history of his cars and his involvement in the design of the rear wing for the Ferrari F40 under the supervision of the engineer Leonardo Fioravanti.
