Faith and strongholds

To mark the 300th anniversary of the canonisation of St Louis Gonzagathe MAST Museum by Castel Goffredoin collaboration with the San Luca ETS Group, presents an extraordinary exhibition curated by Barbara D’Attoma. The exhibition offers a fascinating journey through the history of the territory, the community devotion and thesacred art, by analysing the deep connection between the figure of the saint and the Gonzaga family. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the local historical and cultural heritage through a rich selection of works and artefacts.

The cultural event is further enriched by the presentation of the book “Aloisian Meetings at Castel Goffredo to mark the third centenary of the canonisation of St Louis Gonzaga”, edited by Barbara D’Attoma and printed by Grafiche Tagliaini by Calcined, with graphics by Lara Fezzardi e Simone Tagliani. This valuable publication brings together the expert contributions and presentations by the Marco Busca, Bishop of Mantua, together with the studies by Giacomo Cecchin, Giancarlo Mattioli, Oliviero Filippini e Mariano Vignoli. The event offers visitors an immersive experience of the architecture, faith and fortifications of an era that has left an indelible mark on the identity and historical memory of the community of Castel Goffredo.
