From the Castle to the Brotherhood

On Sunday 18 October, the Castles of Lagnasco are offering a special opportunity: included in the price of the admission ticket, visitors will be able to take part in an extended guided tour which, starting from the Castles, will lead them on a tour of the nearby church of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Cross.

Regarded as the oldest religious building in Lagnasco, the Confraternity complex is mentioned in papal documents dating from 1455 and 1503. Inside, it houses precious paintings, altars dedicated to Saint Lucy, Saint Agatha and Saint Roch, and the urn containing the remains of Saints Simplicio and Salvata: a vital record for tracing the historical events of the community and the lives of its brothers and sisters.
