Selma Selman – 1000 Tears

La Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art by Bergamo presents the artist’s first solo exhibition Selma Selman within an Italian institution. The project forms part of the programme The Pedagogy of Hope and offers the public a deep immersion into the artist’s visual and performative exploration. Through intense and highly meaningful works, the exhibition explores the themes of memoryof the social redemptionof theidentity and the resistance, focusing on the human condition and the complex dynamics of communities marginalised.

The works on display bear witness to a courageous artistic practice, capable of transforming pain and suffering into tools for collective awareness and of liberation. The installations and performances engage directly with the museum space, inviting visitors to reflect on crucial issues of our time and on the transformative power of the’contemporary art as a vehicle for change and social justice.
