The three-year journey of the TPE – Teatro Piemonte Europa devoted to the theme of People. Having explored the darkest corners of the soul in the series Monsters, the 2026/2027 programme curated by the artistic director Andrea De Rosa opens up a new line of thought centred on the WAR and on the moral, personal and relational changes that conflict brings about in human beings.

From the great classics of tragedy to contemporary drama, right through to cross-fertilisation with dance, the circus and performance-based play, the stage of the Astra Theatre, Turin It remains one of the region’s most inspiring cultural landmarks.

The season’s highlights

The packed programme will feature a succession of highly acclaimed directors and actors:

• Major debuts and productions: The season will be kicked off by the dances of Virgilio Sieni at Prayer. Times of war, followed by the new production directed by Andrea De Rosa, Civil war (adapted from Lucan and rewritten by Fabrizio Sinisi).
• Big comebacks and exceptional hospitality: Back by popular demand, the spectacular Dracula directed by De Rosa, and the Astra stage is set to host high-impact productions such as Oscar directed by Antonio Latella, Fifth: Thou shalt not kill by Massimiliano Civica e Let me go, Mother directed by Valter Malosti.
• Tragedy and a contemporary perspective: the monumental The Oresteia by Aeschylus, directed by Carmelo Rifici will engage with a reinterpretation of The Persians signed by Anagoor / Simone Derai and with the Mother Courage and Her Children a Brechtian work revisited by Paola Rota.
• Body language and reviews: a showcase for contemporary dance with the festival Dance Stage 2027 directed by Paolo Mohovich (including the evocative opening at the Reggia di Venaria), as well as the usual events featuring the Festival of the Turin Hills.
