Marisa Merz. The Dance of the Hours

The centenary celebrations marking the birth of Marisa Merz It takes the form of an extraordinary retrospective, divided into three acts which encompass the entire artistic output of the only female artist of the’Arte Povera. This unprecedented exhibition explores the open-ended and ever-changing nature of his work, bringing together historic installations, previously unseen works and dialogues with his current creative output.

At the GAM - Municipal Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Chiara Bertola e Chiara Parisi are responsible for the most personal chapter devoted to the dimension of home-studio-workshop. Among the works on display, the famous Living Sculpture from 1966, restored to the public following a meticulous restoration project overseen by the Venaria Conservation and Restoration Centre. A collective journey through Turin and its outstanding museums, to discover the expressive power of one of the leading figures of the second half of the 20th century.
