The photography exhibition stems from the workshop programme Echoes of Snow, a project conceived to explore and interpret the Alpine landscape through deep listening and the expressive power of the black and white. Edited by Antonella Catalano, the exhibition presents a striking visual dialogue between landscapes and perspectives, unfolding across the various aspects of the Valtellina region.
On the one hand, the Orobic side It depicts intimate atmospheres, meticulous details and impressions captured in the area of Valentino Prato and to Piateda, along the path leading towards the Flat. On the other hand, the Rhaetian side It reveals itself through vast panoramic spaces where the geometric lines of nature and the imperceptible traces of human activity they engage in a constant dialogue with the breath of the valley. The initiative, organised by the Municipality of Sondrio and the City Museums within the framework of the call Culture Olympics – The Mountains Take Centre Stage in Sondrio, is also characterised by complete technical freedom. The photographs on display were taken by Riccardo Baldin, Alessandra Cama, Massimiliano Caria, Matteo Caria, Andrea Catalano, Walter Fabris, Marco Quaroni e Marzia Vasta, who have used both traditional analogue devices how much smartphone of the latest generation, demonstrating how the true essence of the work lies in the author’s sensibility.
