A visit to the archaeological site of the Roman villa at Desenzano, a building that symbolises the late antique economy of northern Italy, characterised by the presence of large estates. The villa comprises a ‘pars dominica’ featuring frescoes, rich mosaics and a ‘viridarium’, and a ‘pars rustica’ dedicated to the production of olive oil or grapes. The artefacts in the adjoining museum provide an in-depth insight into the site and the area during the Roman period, allowing visitors to view frescoes, statues, coins and everyday objects from the villa.

• Cost: Free event with compulsory booking reserved for subscribers. Each Museum Subscription holder may bring along a non-subscriber who will enjoy the guided tour free of charge (the non-subscriber only has to pay for the Museum entrance ticket).
