Ginoulhiac’s Atlas. Methodology

The exhibition presents the work of the Bergamo-based architects in a coherent form for the first time Francesco Ginoulhiac e Teresa Arslan, offering an in-depth look at over thirty years of design research. The exhibition captures the complexity and coherence of a practice that spans different disciplines and scales — from the’architecture at design, from sculpture, to the vehicles, at jewelup to the books — outlining a creative universe in which everyday life and artistic production are inextricably intertwined.

The exhibition is structured like an atlas, a map of methods and processes that links thought and experimentation through forty selected projects. Among the main sections, The Debut explore the New Municipal Theatre of Cagliari, a project that marks the practice’s entry onto the public stage by transforming a peripheral area into a new urban and cultural centre. The section The house explores the theme of living through fourteen domestic projects based on the relationship with the site and the interplay of volumes , while The city extends the research to the urban level and to housing cooperatives.

The exhibition also explores the section On the move, dedicated to vehicles and mobile homes conceived as micro-architectures in dialogue with the industrial production of caravans , and the section Refractions, which illustrates his parallel artistic and publishing activities. Finally, Microcosms showcases the jewellery of Teresa Arslan, which manage to convey, on an intimate scale, the very same tensions between geometry and organic form found in his major works, offering a unique insight from the studio archive into a practice that is at once rigorous, exploratory and highly inventive.
