My Name Is Orson Welles

The National Cinema Museum by Turin hosts the prestigious exhibition My Name Is Orson Welles, an exhibition conceived by the Cinémathèque française and edited by director Frédéric Bonnaud. Set up along the spectacular helical ramp of theTemple Hall of Mole Antonelliana, the route traces the life and career of the great director through more than 400 pieces, including photographs, archive documents, drawings, posters and installations. The intention is to show the lesser-known sides of this total artist, capable of moving unscrupulously between cinema, theatre, radio e magic.

The visitor is greeted by impressive installations, such as the screens dedicated to the mirror sequence of The Lady from Shanghai and the space reminiscent of the radio studio of the RKO, from which Welles unleashed panic with The War of the Worlds. The exhibition is divided into five thematic areas chronological, from the “Wonder Boy”from the early days to the “King without a kingdom”in recent years, integrating valuable materials such as the Orson Welles Fund of Turin and the unpublished plates of Guido Crepax. The exhibition, curated according to the criteria of the Design for All, offers an experience multisensory and accessible thanks to facilitated texts, audio descriptions and videos in LIS.
