The Gentleman

A refined and fascinating journey through three centuries of male aesthetics, exploring the relationship between ornament e clothing as instruments of identity construction. The exhibition The Gentleman - Style and jewellery for men proposes an unprecedented reading of the men's fashion from the 18th century to the present day, with a focus on the use of jewellery, often overlooked in the historical narrative of costume.

Conceived in such a way chronological and thematic, the exhibition gathers original parts, historical clothes, period documents e iconic jewellery signed by the likes of Buccellati, Bulgari, Cartier and Damiani, alongside Milanese and international craftsmen. It shows how men's jewellery has been, over time, status symbol, communicative tool, expression of identity, to become a vehicle of genderfluidity e stylistic research.

From tie pins at aristocratic seals, come on bourgeois twins at ornaments of contemporary subcultures, the exhibition restores value to a male aesthetic repertoire rich in social, cultural and political significance. In a continuous dialogue between past and present, the visitor is invited to reflect on how taste and style are forms of language and self-assertion.

The route is enriched with a textile set design by Kyocera, designed to enhance the objects and the stories they tell. Curated by Mara Cappelletti (jewellery) with the fashion advice of Gian Luca Bovenzi, the exhibition is an invitation to rediscover male elegance in all its nuances.
