SONS: Ser or No Ser

From 28 November to 14 December 2025 finally arrives at Milan, a national exclusive at Steam Factory, SONS: Ser or No Ser, the visionary new theatre experience by the legendary Catalan company La Fura dels Baus.

After conquering Buenos Aires and Málaga, this powerful and transgressive reinterpretation of the’Hamlet of Shakespeare arrives in Italy with a site-specific production that completely transforms the spaces of the Fabbrica del Vapore: physical theatre, 360° immersive video, digital sets and surround sound for a performance that breaks down all boundaries between audience and stage. The spectator is in fact at the heart of the action, standing in an open-plan environment, an integral part of the performance.

Led by the director and co-founder of the company Carlus Padrissa, SONS presents itself as a radical deconstruction of the Shakespearean classic, transforming it into a sensory, emotional and physical journey that investigates life and death, reason and madness, freedom and responsibility.

The company will also involve young local actors thanks to a training workshop realised in collaboration with Milanese artistic realities, in the full participatory spirit that has characterised La Fura dels Baus since its inception.
