Archaeology Cinema 2025

On 8 and 9 November 2025, the Litta Beccaria Castle the International Festival City of Gambolò - Archaeology Cinema, an event entirely dedicated to archaeological cinema, organised by the Lomellino Archaeological Museum and from the Municipality of Gambolòin collaboration with the RAM Film Festival of Rovereto and with the contribution of Lombardy Region.

Two days of screenings, meetings and insights will take the public on a journey of discovery into the most fascinating civilisations of the past, with a selection of international films and documentaries chosen from the 2025 edition of the RAM Film Festival. Admission is free (booking recommended on 349 89 29 645).

🎬 The programme

Saturday 8 November (3 p.m. - 11 p.m.)
The opening of the festival will be dedicated to lost civilisations and the mysteries of origins:

• The Lost Civilisation of the Amazon (France/Chile, 2024)
• Fairground and the time well (Italy, 2024)
• Humans before Neanderthals (France, 2024)
• The man from Val Rosna (Italy, 2024)

In the evening, space is given to the ancient peoples of Italy with:

• Langobards - Grimoaldo, the first king of Friuli (Italy, 2024)
• Faragola. A world rediscovered (Italy, 2025)
• Secret Sardinia, the mysteries of the Nuraghi (France, 2024)

At the end of the afternoon, a archaeological-themed dinner at Locanda Milano (full menu €30, reservation by 2 November).

Sunday 9 November (2.30 - 6 p.m.)
The journey continues between Ancient Rome, the Mediterranean and the East with:

• Rome and its river (Italy, 2024-2025)
• The Golden Cities, the great misunderstanding (France, 2024)
• Excavation diaries - San Cassiano (Italy, 2025)
• The Lost World of Hanging Gardens (United Kingdom, 2024)
• Sacred Gargano (Italy, 2025)

The day will end with the award ceremony and a Roman-style aperitif“ edited by The Convivio by Laura Mussi.

🏆 Awards and information

Two prizes will be awarded:

• City of Gambolò“ Prize”, to the film most voted by the public
• Lomellino Archaeological Museum Award“, to the film chosen by the jury
