News published on 4 November 2025

On the occasion of the exhibition Brigands! Stories and images from the Risorgimento to today, which can be visited at National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento until 29 March 2026, the National Cinema Museum in Turin offers a special film review at the Maximum Cinema, entitled Brigands and... beyond. Bandits in the cinema, scheduled from 9 November to 19 December 2025.

A cultural dialogue between archive images, historical documents e film narratives, to offer the public a broad and engaging view of the figure of the brigand, controversial protagonist of our past and a recurring icon in visual culture.

The exhibition, curated by Grazia Paganelli together with the scientific team of the historical exhibition, shows films ranging from Italian neo-realism to American and Asian cinema, with emblematic titles such as Salvatore Giuliano, The wild bunch, Gangster Story, Once Upon a Time in China. Each projection will be enriched by critical introductions to explore the connections between cinematic fiction and historical reality.

An unmissable opportunity for those who wish to discover the thousand facets of brigandage, not only through documents and museum exhibits, but also thanks to the evocative power of the silver screen.
