Frangi. Nobu at Elba Redux
GRAND BRERA - PALAZZO CITTERIO - Milan (MI)
includedFrom Thursday 30.10.2025 to Sunday 18.01.2026
For the first time in Milan, comes Nobu at Elba Redux, the extraordinary installation of Giovanni Frangi, a Milanese artist among the most original on the contemporary scene. The work, first exhibited 20 years ago in the Scuderia Grande of Villa Panza in Varese, now presents itself in a completely new guise, designed to dialogue with the powerful architecture of the Stirling Hall of Palazzo Citterio, the beating heart of the project Grand Brera.
Composed of four monumental canvases for a total of forty metres and twenty burnt foam sculptures, the installation recreates the nocturnal suggestion of a river landscape: lights come on at fifteen-minute intervals, evoking the emotion of darkness and silence at the water's edge.
John Agosti signed the curatorship of the exhibition, while Francesco Librizzi designed an installation that respects the brutalism of the host space, integrating the work into a setting that makes it a living part of the environment.
They complete the experience 135 original sheets, real fragments of the artist's diary, which recount the creative journey of the work amidst intuitions, detours and personal reflections. Nobu at Elba Redux is not just a return: it is a confrontation with time, a living work that renews itself in space and in the viewer's gaze.
