Between sports jerseys

The exhibition Between sports jerseys is an original exhibition that interweaves crafts, sport and historical memorydesigned on the occasion of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Set up in the Zaffanella Hall of the Bijou Museum in Casalmaggiore, the exhibition enhances period jewellery, mountain tourist souvenirs and objects related to winter sportsall from the historical museum collections.

The title itself is reminiscent of the 'soft' and surprising set-up, realised with works at knitting and crochet of course participants Voglia Jerseypromoted in spring 2025 at the museum. They complete the authentic atmosphere vintage sports equipment and tools used for alpine activities in the past. The exhibition is enriched by a critical cataloguewith essays by Sergio Giuntinione of Italy's leading experts on sports historyand articles by fellow citizens Marco Vallari e Sonia Sbolzani. Among the protagonists evoked: Eugenio Benecchi, don March Tizzi and the theme of mountain religiosity.

Between sports jerseys is part of the regional project "The libraries' sports village"which unites culture and sport in an inter-municipal network with events, meetings, exhibitions and the broadcasting of Olympic competitions in Lombard libraries.
