From Wednesday 29.10.2025 to Sunday 1.03.2026

GAM presents the first anthological exhibition in an Italian institution dedicated to Linda Fregni Nagler, edited by Cecilia Canziani.

The artist uses the photography as a means of reflection on vision, memory and the materiality of the image, interweaving collecting, research and storytelling.

In isolating and preserving fragments of the visible, photographic images tell the story of the gazeThey testify not only to what they show, but also to the different ways in which, over time, we have observed the world.

In photography, presence and absence, visible and invisible chase each other, making each image a place of reflection, memory and imagination.

On show are works created over more than 20 years, including the large installation The Hidden Mother (2013) and the unpublished series Vaterdedicated to the Mensur, a ritual duel of the German student fraternities. The route also includes Pour commander à l'airenlarged photographs from the chronicle, the series Untitledprints from drawings inspired by working objects and architecture, and Smokes, clouds, explosionsfrom his collection of magic lantern plates. Also present are works from his early days, such as I don't want to kill anyone.
