AM Club | Giorgio Oprandi. The traveller's gaze

The voice of the painter Giorgio Oprandi (1883-1962) will involve the public in the narration of his experience as a "knight errant of painting", as the press of the time defined him, for the journeys he undertook between Algeria and Egypt, from Italy to the overseas colonies. An intimate and personal account, expressed in views of African landscapes, in the solitude of deserts and boundless plateaus, and an almost ethnographic look at the depiction of towns and the people who animate them, a look in which the Italian government of the time saw an instrument for promoting the colonies
