The exhibition Era Gallizio explores a lesser-known side of the artist Pinot Galliziohighlighting its deep interest in archaeology and prehistory. Realised in collaboration with theGallizio Archive in Turinthe Beppe Fenoglio Study Centre and with the support of the GAM Turin and the Ferrero Foundation, the exhibition takes place at the Federico Eusebio Civic Museum of Albaa place that holds many prehistoric finds donated by Gallizio himself.

Between 1945 and 1949, Gallizio devoted himself to field research in places already explored by the scholar Giovanni Battista Traverso. His investigations, documented in texts, photographs and unpublished manuscripts, have contributed to rekindle interest in the Neolithic station of Albastimulating new excavation campaigns.

The exhibition, curated by Maria Teresa Roberto, intact graphic interventions originals that enhance the dialogue between the archaeological heritage and artistic works. Among the exhibits are theDeath Chamber (1963), the Emotional diarysingular book-painting, and Heads by Asger Jorn, a work realised during the famous Congress of the Alba Experimental Laboratory.

The exhibition is a unique opportunity to discover the intersection between contemporary art and sciencebetween the material memory of the territory and theartistic imagination.
