Milan rising city

Milan rising city is the first episodic exhibition never realised, a tribute to the cultural, intellectual and artistic dynamism of the Milanese metropolis. Produced by Scalpendi and hosted at the Steam Factorythis exhibition is distinguished by its serial format, structured in seven episodes lasting 21 days each. Each segment is dedicated to a crucial figure or movement that has marked the cultural growth of Milan from the post-World War II period to the present.

Among the protagonists: Elio Vittorini, Giovanni Testori, Albe Steinerthe Militant Communication Workshop, Milanottanta, Paolo Rosa e Luisa Spinatelli. Their stories intertwine literature, visual art, theatre, design and multimedia experimentationoutlining a complex and fascinating narrative of the city. The installation, curated by Monica Vittucci e Paolo Volpatois designed to offer an immersive experience, integrating specially designed display tables, consistent graphics e original materialsmanuscripts, drawings, photographs, sculptures and historical documents.

Innovative also in terms of technology, the exhibition adopts the robotic telepresenceenabling a customised and accessible experience even from a distance. Thanks to collaboration with institutions such as University of Milan, Gramsci Foundation, Testori House and numerous archives, the route guarantees scientific rigour and an engaging narrative. An invitation to discover the city through its most visionary souls.
