Historical Museum

MIC | Museo Interattivo del Cinema

The MIC addresses the public in a more engaging and interactive form than a classic exhibition museum. In fact, in addition to the historical memorabilia from the collections of the Cineteca di Milano, there are multiple interactive and multimedia routes through which visitors are accompanied to discover the history of cinema and more!

The MIC is a profoundly original and alternative museum to traditional museum realities. The contents of the interactive stations present allow users to send a personalised poster, a photo taken with the Sharingbox, a dubbing, a soundtrack of a silent film to their e-mail inbox and share it on social networks.
The MIC is also one of Italy's leading museums in the incorporation of augmented reality and virtual reality solutions into its exhibitions.
Enjoyment through augmented reality is possible thanks to the HP Reveal app, which is loaded onto tablets that can be rented free of charge, and which allows users to discover previously unseen content hidden behind the static nature of the objects stored under the museum's showcases and display cases.
The enjoyment through technology continues with the possibility of enjoying ever-changing and renewed virtual reality content related to the world of cinema and its protagonists, in a dedicated room equipped with 8 Oculus Quest. The MIC also has a state-of-the-art room dedicated to Gaming, equipped with 5 Videogame Arcade (booths) with video games distributed in the 1980s and 2 computers where it is possible to enjoy the video game Behind the Light. The Extraordinary Life of Luca Comerio, the first applied game created by a Film Library.
In addition, at the MIC the visitor can go to the underground route of the Historical Film Archive, a unique experience in Europe that allows the visitor to visit a precious archive containing 40,000 films. During the visit to the Historical Film Archive the visitor will be provided with the advanced technological support of a pair of Epson Moverio BT 350 Smartglasses with which to read the QR Codes positioned between the films and thus enjoy augmented reality content in high definition.

The Abbonamento Musei card offers access to screenings in the MIC's cinema hall at a special rate of €4.00, valid from Monday to Friday until 7 p.m. Public holidays are excluded.
