MUSA – MUSEO DI SALÒ
includedThe MuSa, Salò Museum, tells the story of the city of Salò and its territory through an articulated chronological itinerary, which winds its way through the large and fascinating spaces of the monastery and church of Santa Giustina, built from the 16th century onwards to house the Order of the Somaschi Fathers, traditionally dedicated to the education and training of the clergy and the people. Consisting of numerous sections, dedicated not only to history, art history and archaeology, but also to science and technology, it is a rich and heterogeneous museum, also by virtue of the size and layout of the spaces. The rooms, which wind their way through the vast corridors around the cloisters and the spectacular lake-view mezzanines suspended over the hall of the original church, have undergone careful architectural restoration by architect Giovanni Tortelli. A new, extensive section dedicated to the tragic days of the Republic of Salò was inaugurated in June 2023.
