PARCO ARCHEOLOGICO DEL TEATRO E DELL’ANFITEATRO

The park offers an exceptional cross-section of the ancient city, boasting the remains of an amphitheatre, the perimeter structures of which have been completely brought to light, and a theatre, one third of which is visible today. A series of structures and service areas complete the complex, including a sacellum and small baths. The position of the buildings is splendid, both from a landscape and functional point of view: leaning against the Barberino hill, the theatre and amphitheatre rest on the natural slope. The park covers about 20,000 square metres, with green areas with plants and tree essences. At the entrance there is a small building for the reception of visitors and surveillance personnel. The preparation of the Park, with the aim of opening it to the public, was carried out in one continuous action and therefore through a single project intervention.
