Christmas at Villa Bernasconi

Magical decorations, timeless elegance, special guided tours and immersive activities: from 6 December 2024 to 6 January 2025, Villa Bernasconi will be dressed in a unique Christmas charm.

Villa Bernasconi, the fascinating talking museum in Cernobbio, will welcome the public in an atmosphere of times gone by. Interior stylist and art buyer Silvia Pio has curated a Christmas décor that combines period furniture, contemporary works of art and refined Art Nouveau details, creating a warm and welcoming experience that transports visitors back in time.

An immersive Christmas story
The museum itinerary will be enriched by an unpublished story by Cristina Quadrio, set in the early 1900s, which will guide visitors through the Christmas traditions of the villa: from the choice of the menu to the little ones' letters. The narration will be complemented by cross-media technologies and emotional moments, for an immersive experience.

Events and activities for all
Christmas at Villa Bernasconi will offer:

• Workshops for schoolsconcerts and readings.
• An adventure in augmented realityChildren, with 3D visors, can fly in a hot-air balloon with Father Christmas to distribute presents.
• Art exhibitionsThe 'Tacchinato Peacock Room' will display historical horses from the Toy Horse Museum in Grandate, dialoguing with works by Wanda Broggi.

A unique Christmas tree and iconic decorations
The hall tree, decorated with butterflies and white fabrics, will give a fresh, contemporary touch, while the decorations in the villa will recall Art Nouveau details. Outside, a tribute to the life cycle of the silkworm, a symbol of Eng. Bernasconi's silk business.

Solo exhibition of Fabio Nicora
From 28 November, in collaboration with GALP Cernobbio, the Sala della Musica will host On the notes of artexhibition in which Nicora explores the Art Nouveau style with mosaics inspired by leaves and flowers.
