FONDAZIONE CENTRO CONSERVAZIONE E RESTAURO “LA VENARIA REALE”

Venaria Reale (TO)
included
The Centre is housed in the monumental La Venaria Reale complex, in the spaces of the former 18th-century Stables and Riding School designed by Benedetto Alfieri, in a happy blend of historical architecture and contemporary additions.

The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre was founded in 2005 as a non-profit institute for higher education and research in the field of Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage. Within the Reggia di Venaria complex, the spaces destined to house the Centre are those of the 18th-century Scuderie Alfieriane, the northeasternmost portion of the entire grounds of the Savoy residence, which have been completely re-functionalized to define a happy union between historical architecture and contemporary insertions. Since 2016 the Centre's doors have been open to the public and families with themed tours and itineraries in which restorers, art historians, and scientific researchers recount the advanced intervention and investigation techniques thanks to which the restorations become true knowledge sites.
