The Museo del Paesaggio Sonoro allows visitors to discover just how much sound has been an integral part of human life in the last century: voices, lullabies, the tolling of bells marking the rhythms of the day, choirs at festivals and processions, hunting calls, whistles, village orchestras. The Museum is located inside Palazzo Grosso, a noble residence remodelled in 1734 by architect Bernardo Antonio Vittone. The museum tour is divided into several thematic rooms. The '900 Room, a treasure trove of local iconographic memory of the last century, with a rich photographic exhibition bears witness to the themes of the Soundscape of the territory: the countryside, work, festivals, rituals, moments of aggregation and music. Ephemeral terracotta instruments, or those made from animals, lead to the Forest: an imaginative path dominated by sound. The Hall of Bells and Processional Chariots is dedicated to the bell tradition and the instruments of Holy Week. In the Hall of the Musicians, one savours the rhythm of the festivities animated by the musicians. Reproductions of "characters" from Riva and the territory are portrayed in dancing poses or with musical instruments. The visit ends with the Transition Hall, pulsating with the sounds of the new century. The tour is enriched by the historical rooms of Palazzo Grosso.
