1961 - 1968
MUST – Museum of the Vimercate Area - Vimercate (MB)
From Saturday 21.09.2024 to Sunday 15.12.2024
The MUST in Vimercate hosts an exhibition dedicated to the artist Marco Carnà, a central figure on the local and international art scene.
Born in Carnate in 1929 and died in Vimercate in 2021, Carnà travelled through the second half of the 20th century as a lone protagonist, exhibiting his works in cities such as Milan, Rome, London e Paris. Among his best-known creations are the stained glass windows of Monza Cathedral.Edited by Marina Pizziolo e Romano Ravasio, the exhibition presents over fifty works realised between 1961 and 1968, accompanied by notes and documents. The exhibition offers a clear and engaging narrative, inviting visitors to explore Carnà's creative evolution through the pictorial cycle Rooster eggs, which investigates rhythm and geometry with a unique style.
The sculpture exhibited in the courtyard of the Villa Sottocasa further enriches the experience by being part of the garden restoration project financed by the’European Union.
