The museum tour proposes the discovery of the cells where ordinary men suffered for the affirmation of free and democratic Italy.
Famous criminal events, the Agents of Custody, stories from the end of the 19th century, the First World War, the Red Biennium, anti-fascist struggles, racial persecution, the Resistance in particular in the infamous German First Wing, uprisings, stories of fascists, the last execution in Italy, terrorism with the killing of four agents, the testimony of universal values in the cells of those condemned to death.
The Anti-Aircraft Shelter route built eighteen metres deep inside a prison has unique architectural and historical features.
The opening of this hospice confirms the oral and written testimonies of some political prisoners and underlines how prisoners of Jewish, Italian and foreign origin have contributed to forming our collective memory. The civic perspectives of this special visit focus on giving voice to a particular forgotten underground cross-section because telling the truth of facts is an act of justice.
The Sacred & Profane tour winds its way inside the central arm of the structure, offering visitors a special experience, from the spirituality of the Central Church with its Cubicles, to the 'diabolic' architecture through the hidden paths of the Director.
