Set in the main square of San Giorio di Susa, the Chapel of St Lawrence It is one of the jewels of the Diocesan Museum Network. The building was erected in 1328 from the castle Lorenzetto Bertrandi, who entrusted the decoration to a talented anonymous teacher from a Franco-Piedmontese school.
Outside, The south wall preserves a valuable fragment featuring St Christopher and theAdoration of the Magi. The interior is striking for the richness of its 14th-century cycle of paintings, ranging from The Life of Christ to the stories of San Lorenzo, right up to the enigmatic The Legend of the Three Living and the Three Dead.
