Founded in 1996, the Carmagnola Civic Naval Museum is part of Carmagnola's cultural history, due to the important contribution of men and materials provided by the town to the Italian navy and, in particular, to the ancient connection with hemp processing for sails, ropes and rigging. Housed in the building of the old public weight, the museum displays documents of daily life at sea, illustrated in four sections: the history of the Italian Navy, naval activities from the Unification of Italy to the present day, the marine environment and naval modelling.
