included Franceco Faà di Bruno was an exponent of social Catholicism in 19th-century Turin and in the early part of his life participated as a soldier in the first War of Independence of 1848, interpreting the sentiments of the nascent Italian nation. The Museum traces his life and houses an important collection of scientific and technical instruments of the time.
The museum consists of nine rooms housing various objects and writings through which one can trace the life of Francesco Faà di Bruno, marked by his many scientific, social and charitable activities. The museum houses a collection of scientific and technical instruments of the time, purchased by Francesco Faà di Bruno, including the Foucault telescope and other objects he invented such as the phasiscope and the writing desk for the blind. Religious vestments from the 19th century and various relics are also preserved. The other rooms are where Francesco Faà di Bruno himself lived and in one of these is his extremely rich scientific library.
