The simple story of a photographer
Rivoli (TO)
Sunday 02.06.2024 at 16:00
For the first time, a collection of photographs, including many previously unpublished works, by photographer Paolo Pellion di Persano (Castagneto Po, Turin, 1947-2017) is being presented to the public for the first time, starting from his debut in the 1970s and covering the thematic areas that marked his work: travel, social unrest, the development of Arte Povera, his work for other creative sectors and his interest in theatre.
The exhibition presents an extraordinary narrative in which the artistic and intellectual energy of Turin and its surrounding area takes centre stage, together with the history of the museum itself, of which Pellion was the first biographer. The exhibition highlights the donation made in 2023 by the heirs of the photographer's archive, including over 44,000 negatives, to the CRRI – Castello di Rivoli Research Centre. The exhibition is followed by a special visit to the Savoy Residence, inspired by the photographer's work.
