Rolando Deval. Grounds

The exhibition Rolando Deval. Grounds represents an important opportunity to explore the conceptual and minimalist language of one of the most refined artists on the contemporary Aosta Valley scene. Curated by Angela Madesani and coordinated by Daria Jorioz, The exhibition offers an itinerary that unfolds through elegant cards in which the nature becomes the protagonist and metaphor of a 30 years of soul searching.

Deval, an artist who has exhibited in numerous Italian and Swiss cities, constructs with his works a dimension meditative and metaphysical, evoking maps and geographies of the soul. His creations are the result of silent investigations, of slow and deep reflections, which contrast with the current tendency towards simplification of thought and experience. In a society that summarises and flattens, Deval instead invites a excavation of the invisible, patient penetration into meanings, which often remain elusive or unspeakable.

The exhibition is complemented by a bilingual illustrated catalogue, to highlight an artist who speaks a universal language made up of signs, silences and matter. Contemporary art is thus confirmed instrument of emotion and reflection, mirror of a inner world in dialogue with the earth.
