Other Intelligences

The exhibition Other Intelligences, co-produced by MEET and HEK - House of Electronic Arts, Basel, offers a fascinating exploration of the unconventional forms of intelligence and their dialogue with artificial intelligence. On display 10 works by international artists investigating the links between natural intelligences, biological systems and digital technology.

What do a subterranean mycelium and a machine learning system? Both work according to distributed network logics, without a command centre. Both represent sophisticated forms of intelligence, profoundly different from the human one.

Through immersive installations and advanced technologies, the exhibition makes visible the perceptual processes of plants, fungi, insects and other non-human organisms, questioning how to dialogue with intelligences that do not think in a linear way, which perceive time differently, which process through the body o act collectively.

Other Intelligences is not just an artistic exhibition, but a real imagination and knowledge workshop: the works on display transform biological data into sensory experiences, they build interfaces between humans and non-humans, reveal Unexpected connections between biology, technology and creativity.
